My First HTML Editor

My first HTML editor is Dreamweaver. You can download a free trail edition from Macromedia the full version at $399 is not cheap, it is power packed and it is recognized as one of the best around. You can do almost any kind of web page design with it. It is extremely flexible and the WSIWYG editor works. I learn how to build websites/webpages using templates, library which save time alot of time if there are modifications to be done. It was fun just seeing the finished webpages waiting to be put on a website.

I am a slow learner, I had to spend a week playing around with it before I am able to start using it effectively. There is one book which I find very good. It is Dreamweaver 8: The Missing Manual by David Sawyer McFarland.

The Missing Manual is well organized, I read the book chapter by chapter doing all the tutorials and gain a good foundation understanding the basics of Dreamweaver. There are so much tips in there that even after you learnt the basics of Dreamweaver you will find The Missing Manual a good reference to have at your side when you work with Dreamweaver.

I made a mistake getting How to Do Everything with Dreamweaver 8 by Michael Meadhra. I wasted 2 whole days reading this lousy book. At first I thought I am stupid and bore with it to the second day. Then finally I decided to look for an alternative book. Then I realized that it is worst manual I have have ever read. There is no clear path of instruction, it is simpily a waste of time and money. I was frustrated reading this book, it got me no where. So please do yourself a favour avoid this one. You can go to Amazon.com to check out the reviews by other readers too.
